Welcome to the Clarion Rural Track, a rural training pathway within the Butler Family Medicine Residency Program, designed to prepare future family physicians for rewarding careers in rural and community-based healthcare.
Residents in the Clarion Rural Track gain hands-on experience in family medicine, rural health, preventive care, inpatient medicine, outpatient services, and emergency medicine while training at Clarion Hospital. Our program offers a supportive learning environment where residents develop clinical expertise, professional confidence, and the skills needed to meet the unique healthcare needs of rural communities.
With access to a broad range of patient populations and medical conditions, residents benefit from increased autonomy and personalized mentorship while caring for patients across the continuum of care. This comprehensive training experience equips graduates to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in both rural and community healthcare settings.
As part of its commitment to advancing healthcare in northwestern Pennsylvania, Clarion Hospital continues to invest in innovative programs and services, including the state-of-the-art Health and Wellness Center. The facility is home to Family Healthcare of Clarion, the continuity clinic for the Clarion Rural Track, where residents receive training in family medicine, lifestyle medicine, chronic disease management, wellness, and disease prevention. Through evidence-based care and community engagement, residents learn to improve health outcomes while building meaningful relationships with the patients and communities they serve.
