Roger Lutz joined Independence Health System (formerly Butler Health System) in 2009 and has nearly 30 years’ experience in information technology, data communications and information security. Lutz’s passion is cybersecurity and he serves as Sector Chief for the Healthcare and Public Health sector of the FBI’s Pittsburgh InfraGard partnership.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Science from Robert Morris University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Lutz holds certifications from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and is recognized as a HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner.
He serves as an adjunct instructor of the Healthcare Ethics, Law, Privacy and Information Assurance course as part of an M.Sc. Healthcare Informatics program at Slippery Rock University. He and his wife, Amy, are the parents of four and reside in Butler.
