Independence Health System Welcomes Neuro and Spinal Surgeon

GREENSBURG, PA, March 11, 2026 … Independence Health System announced that Sandip Savaliya, MD, has joined the Neurosurgery department. 

A board-certified neurosurgeon, Dr. Savaliya completed his training in Neurosurgery and Minimally Invasive and Complex Spine Surgery. He completed his fellowship at the Penn State Neuroscience Institute and the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, where he also earned his MD. Dr. Savaliya has also contributed to the field through his research on spinal pathologies.

Dr. Savaliya’s areas of expertise include neurotrauma, robotic and endoscopic spine surgery, traumatic spine injury, treating degenerative spinal conditions, such as spine and brain tumors and spinal deformity, intracranial hemorrhages, neuromodulation for pain, and peripheral nerve disease.
