Independence Health System welcomes pulmonary and critical care specialist to Butler Memorial Hospital

BUTLER, Pa. Aug 11, 2026 – Independence Health System announced that Jacob DeBerry, MD, has joined the medical staff at Butler Memorial and Clarion hospitals, where he will provide specialized care for patients with pulmonary and sleep‑related conditions.

Dr. DeBerry is a pulmonologist who completed advanced training in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where he also served as chief medical resident. He went on to hone his skills with a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UPMC.

“I look forward to joining the medical staff at Butler Memorial Hospital,” said Dr. DeBerry. “I am committed to working closely with patients to help them manage pulmonary and sleep‑related conditions while improving their quality of life and overall health.”

Dr. DeBerry will see patients at the Butler Pulmonology office at 389 New Castle Road and Butler Memorial Hospital, providing diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sleep apnea, lung cancer and other pulmonary/sleep disorders.
