Independence Health System Welcomes Cardiologist to Westmoreland Area

GREENSBURG, PA, September 3, 2025 … Independence Health System (IHS) announced the addition of Leanne Woiewodski, MD, to its cardiology team. Dr. Woiewodski will provide comprehensive cardiovascular care to Westmoreland County residents at The Square at Norwin in North Huntingdon and at Westmoreland Hospital Cardiology Services in Greensburg. 

Dr. Woiewodski is board-certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. She earned her medical degree from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and completed her fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Summa Health Heart and Vascular Institute in Akron, Ohio. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Originally from Lower Burrell in the Greater Pittsburgh area, Dr. Woiewodski earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
