Independence Health System to Host Free Cardiovascular Health Screening Event in November

BUTLER, Pa., Oct. 9, 2025 – Independence Health System will host a free cardiovascular health screening event on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Butler Crossroads Campus, located at 127 Oneida Valley Road, Butler, PA. 

Cardiovascular screenings play a vital role in identifying risk factors for heart and vascular disease. The free health screening will include:

  • Body mass index (BMI) assessment
  • Blood pressure check
  • Carotid artery screening
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  • Lipid profile
  • Blood sugar test 
  • Vascular screening (ankle-brachial index or ABI)

A 14-hour fast is recommended prior to testing for accurate results.

The event will also feature healthy food tastings and recipes provided by the System’s Lifestyle Coaching team, which promotes healthy eating habits and offers evidence-based health education to support overall wellness.
