Westmoreland/Frick Hospital Foundation Provides Funding for Scouts Camp Safety Equipment

The Westmoreland/Frick Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees recently approved a funding request from the Westmoreland-Fayette Council of the Boy Scouts of America for the purchase of upgraded medical equipment to better support the safety needs of their campers and staff at Camp Conestoga and Camp Buck Run.

The Westmoreland-Fayette Council of the Boy Scouts of America serves more than 2,000 youth in Westmoreland and Fayette counties. Camp Conestoga and Camp Buck Run welcome more than 1,300 scouts annually, where they have made physical safety and mental health a top priority.

The funding awarded enabled the Westmoreland-Fayette Council of Boy Scouts of America to purchase an AED, Stop the Bleed trauma stations, CPR response kits, backboards, and trauma response training for camp staff and key volunteers. This new emergency response equipment will allow them to hold true to their motto, “Be Prepared.”

Pictured in the photo are Paul Rock, Camp Director of Camp Conestoga and Mary Pishko, the Health Officer for Eberly Scout Reservation. We applaud their entire team for their dedication to continued scout health and safety education.
