Latrobe Area Hospital Charitable Foundation Presents Check to the Latrobe Police Department

The Latrobe Area Hospital Charitable Foundation recently presented the Latrobe Police Department with a $10,000 check to be used for specialized officer training to effectively manage mental health crisis in the community. Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital is proudly partnering with the Latrobe Police Department to equip officers with the knowledge and skills needed to safely and effectively respond to mental and behavioral health situations that require intervention. All officers will receive training in these expert-led workshops aimed at improving public safety, reducing unnecessary force, and building community trust.

A special thank you to Mayor Eric J. Bartels, Police Captain Robert Daerr and Chief of Police Robert Bosco, shown left to right, who were on hand to commemorate the new partnership focusing on compassionate mental and behavioral health care and response.

Presenting the check is Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital Chief Nursing Officer Maryann Singley, Independence Health System Chief Development Officer Anthony Cancro and Independence Health System Latrobe, Frick and Westmoreland Hospital President Brian Fritz.
