Independence Health System Welcomes Back Latrobe Native, Latrobe Hospital Resident as Physician for Latrobe Healthcare Facilities

GREENSBURG, PA, December 4, 2025 … Independence Health System today announced that Latrobe native David Vincent Ream II, MD, has joined the Obstetrics & Gynecology and Family Medicine departments. Independence Health System is expanding both departments, and Dr. Ream’s role represents that growth.

Dr. Ream is board-certified in family medicine. He completed his family medicine-obstetrics fellowship at the Memorial Health University Medical Center and his family medicine residency at Latrobe Hospital. He earned his MD from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Basseterre, St. Kitts, and his BA in Biology from Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to return to Latrobe and care for the community that has always felt like home. Joining Independence Health System allows me to practice both family medicine and obstetrics, which is exactly where my passion lies — caring for women and families through every stage of life,” said Dr. Ream. “My goal is to provide compassionate, comprehensive care while building relationships that support families not only in moments of illness but also in times of joy and growth.”

Within women’s health, Dr. Ream has a special interest in prenatal care, pregnancy management, and gynecology.

For family medicine and OB/GYN outpatient care, Dr. Ream is seeing patients at The Square at Latrobe, and for inpatient care, including labor and delivery, he is located at Westmoreland Hospital. To schedule an appointment in the family medicine department, patients can call 724-804-1684. To schedule an appointment in the OB/GYN department, patients can call 724-850-3150. He welcomes new patients of all ages in both areas.
