About the Provider

S. Joshua Szabo, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal Centers and sees patients in its Butler-Clearview and Cranberry/Mars offices and at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. He is a member of the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery team. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and his orthopedic training at Drexel University’s College of Medicine. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Miss. In 2006, Dr. Szabo joined Pittsburgh-based Tri Rivers where his orthopedic practice focuses on shoulder, elbow and knee surgery, as well as PRP therapy. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Szabo serves as a pool physician for the United States Ski Association and a team physician for Butler County Community College Athletics and Butler Senior High School. He is a clinical instructor for the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine department of orthopedic surgery and also lectures nationally for the Arthroscopy Association of North America, instructing other physicians about arthroscopic shoulder surgery, knee ligament reconstruction techniques and other orthopedic topics.
