Dr. Sarah Treter has completed a focused practice designation (FPD) in Adult Complex Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery. This designation recognizes surgeons who specialize in this area, which is co-administered by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS). Surgeons earn this designation by having a high volume and complexity of cases, participating in multidisciplinary care, and passing a rigorous written examination. This designation helps identify surgeons with advanced, specialized training in thyroid and parathyroid conditions.
Dr. Treter has also received additional training in the following areas:
- Robotic and laparoscopic surgery
- Ultrasound-guided thyroid biopsy
Dr. Treter is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery (FACS). She completed a Surgical Oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health as well as an Endocrine Surgery fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT.
