About the Provider

D. Kelly Agnew, MD, is physician executive administrator of Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal Centers and a member of its Hip and Knee Reconstruction team. He sees patients at Tri Rivers’ Butler-Clearview and Slippery Rock offices. After receiving his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1989, Dr. Agnew completed an internship and orthopedic surgical residency at the University of South Carolina. In 1990, while an intern, he joined the U.S. Naval Reserves Medical Corps, serving for 15 years. This included serving as commander during a period of active duty in 2003. In 1994, Dr. Agnew joined Pittsburgh-based Tri Rivers, where he has built a thriving orthopedic surgical practice. Maintaining privileges at three hospitals, his practice focuses on total joint replacement surgery and general orthopedics. Dr. Agnew has served on a variety of committees at Butler Memorial Hospital, including its board of trustees, executive committee, credentialing committee, and radiation and safety committee. He also served as chairman of the department of orthopaedics at UPMC Passavant Hospital from 2001 to 2002. Since 2016, Dr. Agnew has worked as a clinical assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Agnew is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Allegheny County Medical Society.
